   from car crashes
   involving underage
   drinking.

 of 117 fatal crashes involving  17 to 20 year old drivers, 
22 involved alcohol.

Drinking drivers aged 16 to 20 are twice as likely to be involved in a fatal crash as drinking drivers who are 21 or older.

Used any illicit drugs in past year         (17.9%)

U.S. Dept. of Transportation,
on a typical prom weekend:

48 American teenagers are killed in vehicles.  5,202 are injured

40% of the deaths are alcohol-related
